What is Bamboo Charcoal Powder?
Our organic bamboo charcoal powder is derived from fast-growing Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis), a species highly favored by environmentally conscious consumers due to its status as one of the most sustainable resources available.
The bamboo is harvested after five years of growth, then carbonized in a kiln at 1000°C to produce bamboo charcoal. It is then finely milled into two particle sizes: 3000 mesh and 5000 mesh.
Bamboo charcoal contains millions of microscopic pores, and even at low-temperature carbonization, it is said to offer a surface area of over 200–400 m² per gram, making it exceptionally porous and absorbent.
