PROPERTIES OF NARINGINOL GLX™
Naringin is a flavonoid glucoside that is found in citrus fruits, especially grapefruit. Despites its antioxidant power, naringin is characterized by an extremely low water solubility that makes it difficult to use in functional foods and personal care products. To enhance the biological activity and stability of naringin, we have used our proprietary technology to drastically improve its bioavailability by making it highly water soluble.
NARINGINOL GLX™, a highly pure glucosyl naringin, can be used in various personal care products to prevent or treat cellulite, reduce the signs of aging and protect the skin against free radicals.
Cellulite Treatment
Cellulite is a skin condition that affects many women and men as well. It is characterized by a skin topography changing to a surface that resembles an orange peel at certain body areas such as highs, hips, buttocks and abdomen. Several factors contribute to the development of cellulite: gender, genetics and lifestyle.
Clinical studies have shown that NARINGINOL GLX™ reduces cellulite area by nearly half within 8 weeks of treatment. Skin collagen is boosted concomitantly.
Stretch Marks Treatment
Stretch marks develop when the skin is stretched due to pregnancy, weight gain or loss, rapid growth in adolescence or enlargement surgery. The marks appear on the abdomen, breasts, hips, buttocks, upper arms or other places on the body.
A body cream containing 2% NARINGINOL GLX™ was applied twice a day on the abdomen. Results show a significant reduction of the depth of stretchmarks-related wrinkles.
Tyrosinase Inhibitory Activity
Tyrosinase is the key enzyme in the production of melanin. Tyrosinase inhibitors are widely used in the personal care industry to prevent hyperpigmentation, tanning and other skin issues.
As a bioflavonoid with high antioxidant activity, NARINGINOL GLX™ can be used in personal care products to regulate the production of melanin by downregulating tyrosinase activity by up to 90% on a dose dependent manner.
Hyaluronidase Inhibitory Activity
By primarily breaking down hyaluronic acid, hyaluronidase can lead to a decrease in skin water retention and elasticity, which causes premature wrinkling and sagging.
NARINGINOL GLX™ significantly downregulates hyaluronidase activity and contributes to the protection of the extracellular matrix. This highly water-soluble active may be used in a variety of formulations developed to restore skin elasticity and silky texture.
