What is γ-Polyglutamic Acid?
γ-Polyglutamic Acid (γ-PGA) is a biodegradable, water-soluble peptide polymer composed of repeating units of glutamic acid. Naturally derived through microbial fermentation—traditionally from natto (fermented soybeans)—γ-PGA has gained tremendous attention in the skincare industry as a superior hydrating ingredient, often compared to or used in synergy with hyaluronic acid.
